New Year, New Everything!

First and foremost I would love to wish all a very, very Happy New Year! Yep, bit far from that but and again, better late than NEVER. As I’ve witnessed on Facebook and Twitter messages, most have predicted this year to be a GOOD YEAR! So far, all’s been good and how’s yours?

This year, I hope to bring better and more informative (entertaining) stuffs for u lots but only when/IF time permits. See, we just moved in to our new office; it’s lovely and bigger than ever – feels so right doin this, feels real good being a part of ‘em. And with all the good things happening; of course ‘for-good-stuff-to-happen’ are uuuussually packaged with mass of workload, and an uphill struggle; BLOGGING might be reduced to only 10% … or it might add up when my change-of-lifestyle (ergo Discipline) sets in – loving every sec of it.

SO now, I have here with me, 12 goals – I’m gonna make sure each of it is 'fabulously' pulled off (again it needs plenty of discipline; I’m expecting to bite my tongue thru it, I don’t know). With each successful goal, comes an expectantly-winning BLOG after. again If time permits. Period.

To a fabulous year ahead!!

Signing off...Xxxx

This year, will be.

Bachelorette Luncheon Preparation

We are in terrible NEED of a Bachelorette-Props Shop in KUALA LUMPUR! Well, if you have one It’s gonna stay long, for sure.

Sash - The ones which are sold in our party shops in Kuala Lumpur are most made out of Plastic; Of course that didn’t work for me. I bought one tho out of eagerness. A FEW steps too early; only to realize later that, it’s not gonna be elegant. Plastics are not iron-able. You do not want the Sash to look furrowed; cause that’s the first thing peepz are gonna notice; and that concludes my grounds. Trust me ;)

So instead; I googled for a fabric printer/embroidery shop. In luck I found one near us in Damansara Jaya – Stitch Planet. My idea was to have the words printed on a separate material, satin of course (it’s traditional) and have it sewn on top of a ready sash after. I was pretty sure it might work. It did!

Send your fabric/s to tailors to do the job ;)

HEAD GEAR – Again, jumping in too soon. Instead of a Traditional crown and veil for the Bride to Be; I bought a Fascinator as an alternative. My initial idea was to dress her up with a ‘simple’ yet elegant head gear Buuuuuuut clearly I was wrong. The OTHER girls in FB looked just as great in the Traditional Crown + Veil. So again, my fickleness set in, I got her THAT. Now, that’s 2 headgears for the Bride-To-Be. So much for wanting to ‘change’ the tradition – I think I might have just moved SIMPLE to a SCREAMING-WOW! Lols .

Girls, don’t go for something different. You WOULD WANT TO STICK WITHIN TRADITION LINES. Trust me.

The Bride to Be in the conventional headgear

Liana in another - 'Time for prezzies'

Name TAGS – Alright the last Hen’s taught me a thing or two, which is the buttons or ‘name’ tags rather. (Google – Buttons. Badges) Buttons are found in almost all parts of the world here in KL. One item which’s a tad difficult to find tho’ are the name tags. Right. I wanted a name tag for each of ‘em – And it didn’t take me long to decide that I should design my own and have em imprinted on Buttons and that would create ‘a-badge-cum-nametag-of-my-own’. Which I did. and the outcome? Wow-ing. I Love it. Most importantly, they loved it.

Laydies, it’s not that difficult really.

If you like the idea:

MESSAGE FOR THE BRIDE TO BE - I got this idea from the internet. But HOW I DID IT was off the cuff. I wanted ANOTHER sash for the bride-to-be just so we could pin those written messages on it – BUT it might not work because she might look ‘occupied’ and we do not want that. Alternatively, I decided to do a mini wall-of-fame, I wanted the ‘recipes’ framed up. Yea something like that. I didn’t wanna spend too much time thinking if the idea would work, hence I bought the frame immediately. And for the messages, I went to Craft Haven (one Utama) to look for something passable to write our messages on. FOUND IT. The pieces were in forms of kitchen appliances, ie: blender, cup, roller pin, ice cream cones, pot. Etc. Of course, the subject of the activity was changed to Recipes for the Bride To Be.

FAVORS – For favors I got cupcakes from Bisou Bakery cause they’re convenient to fetch and ‘handy’ on my end. I pre-ordered a few mins before; got the attendant to pack the cupcakes individually into a cupcake gift boxes and tie ‘em up with pretty blue ribbons.

NEXT; Earlier in the week I printed a whole A4 of Liana’s Bachelorette insignia, had them cut and was used as tags on the Party Favors. ‘It’ worked marvellously, like predicted. And to top the cake, use simple objects like, a condom, plastic rings, flowers, or mini crowns and slip it thru the ribbon (make sure it stays, otherwise use double-sided tapes) and Walla! Beautiful like planned = )

CERTIFICATE of ‘APLENTY’ - An activity to divert everyone’s attention from BOREDOM and for laughter sake. Lol. The certs were of course from the bottom of my heart; Certificate of Appreciation was given to those who participated and Certificate of Honor, to the Bride-to-be for being such a good spot. And she was.

Laydies, certs are easy to do. ;)

I had other things decorated/planned for the event but those are the small bits am gonna leave out.

A Wow Factor: The Secret Life of Nora

***Cameras, mobiles or any other recording devices weren’t allowed inside hence photos of performance were taken from the internet***

From the infamous Puteri Gunung Ledang, to the orthodox P. Ramlee the Musical and now Enfiniti presents yet another musical drama set in the 1960s vintage, The Secret Life of Nora.

The play was broadcasted over Bulletin Utama one night; the dance what seemed burlesque-like got my attention and split seconds later, words came out like pinball machines “b, jom pergi nak?”

Only an ‘mmm’ what sounded like a ‘YES’ to me; well Clearly, I took it as A YES and I confided in my good friend, Google. (search Redtix). The musical show was screened in Istana Budaya.

I have always loved arts but I have never been to musical shows or any artsy stuffs for that matter. I vowed I would BUT nothing transpires. This time, my hands worked like the machines you see in toy factories, programmed to do something (usually abhor being pushed). I purchased the tickets right away.

Pleased and thrilled, it felt real good.

The story follows the sensational life of a stage glam Singer Nora (Tiara Jacquelina); she was approached to audition for the big screens; her dream-come-true. She then meets Roger a British spy (Ryan Silverman), who offered her a role in Nora Zain as Nora Zain, a famous Melayu film which was circulated in 1965. Roger tells her she had to train in a secret training program for the role. She then finds herself being drawn in to become the organization’s spy and ends up saving the lives of a thousand women.

Before the Show...excited giler.

The only scene we managed
We wouldnt walk out 'empty handed'.

'One more for the road'

I was entranced at first performance, the welcome performance; and I knew immediately I was in for the SHOW not the CELEBS. My qualms were bowled away immediately.

Everything was so colorful; the performers were so agile, the dance moves were proficient, the songs suited the scenes and so very captivating I tapped my feet to a few songs (I did) and of course THE costumes (muah a million times) they were very stunning.

*would like to thank Runwitme.blogspot, TV Smith, and Jynn Looi for the Photos*

SUPER love the vintage touch on EVERYTHING, I might add.

I like how they changed the backdrop for each scene tho’ it may have been a gaffe for many. The creativity and exclusivity spoke for itself.

The meet-and-greet session should’ve been more ‘friendlier’ I suppose. A crowd of fans can be impossible but for those who made it thru’ the line should have been given the chance for a 5-10-secs photograph.

Thankfully we had our share

Junee, Ling, Tiara Jacquelina, Jynn Looi, Ryan Silverman
Aznil, Jynn
Stephenie, Aaron, Jynn

Adibah Noor and I

Of course we HAD TO

On the whole, I think the show was wonderful (Malaysia should have more of this). I was mesmerized with The Secret Life of Nora; haunted really.

I couldn’t take my eyes off ‘em, I found myself Rapt, I swear i could have dribbled incautiously.

Overstated much? Not at all ;)

As you have heard and thousands have watched, The Secret Life of Nora has captured the hearts of many nationally and perhaps, a fair amount of peepz internationally (at a satisfactory level). Demands were sky-scraping, they got themselves a great number of Reviews and dialogues, PLUS 3 extended shows…

Did I mention I went for the second time?

Junee says "I still think its a lovely surprise to find local talent here on stage.."

And Lili Yusoff a 'die hard fan', who watched SEVEN times.

Now, How GRAND is that?
